The modified excavator effectively improves the work efficiency, which is twice the result with half the effort in the project. Half of the credit is to extend the service life of the extension arm. More and more excavators are using the extension arm. What can we do to extend the service life of the extension arm?

1、减少加长臂内的杂质。当外界杂质进入加长臂内部后，会造成许多不必要的危害。例如加长臂表面擦伤、润滑油膜损坏、零部件磨损严重等。但对于加长臂作业特殊性，其作业环境复杂，许多东西无法避免，那么我们就应当提升保护意识，尽量选择宽敞、平坦的地面作业，做好防护工作并加强加长臂维护保养，减少因杂质而造成的不必要的危害；

1. Reduce impurities in the extension arm. When the external impurities enter the inside of the extension arm, many unnecessary hazards will be caused. For example, the surface of the extension arm is scratched, the lubricating oil film is damaged, and the parts are severely worn. But for the particularity of the work of the long arm, its working environment is complex and many things can not be avoided, so we should enhance the awareness of protection, choose the spacious and flat ground work as far as possible, do a good job of protection and strengthen the maintenance of the long arm to reduce the unnecessary harm caused by impurities;

2、要掌握好温度。不同的零部件都拥有着各自不同的恒定温度，当温度超过该范围时，则会出现一系列不良反应。因此，在日常工作中，也要定期清理加长臂上的灰尘，保证散热风道畅通；

3、避免高负载作业。高负载作业会对加长臂造成严重的影响，使其磨损增大，长期处于高负载作业的加长臂，其故障发生率远远高于正常负载下作业的加长臂。因此，合理分配工程机械的作业载荷能够很好地延长加长臂寿命，保证其有效的作业能力；

3. Avoid high load jobs. High load operation will have a serious impact on the boom, increasing its wear and tear. The failure rate of the boom in long-term high load operation is much higher than that in normal load operation. Therefore, the reasonable distribution of the working load of construction machinery can extend the life of the extension arm and ensure its effective working ability;

4、减少腐蚀。金属表面与周围介质发生化学或电化学作用而遭受破坏的现象称腐蚀。这种腐蚀作用不但会影响机械外表设备的正常工作，而且会腐蚀到加长臂内部的零部件。如雨水、空气中的化学物质等通过机械零部件的对外通道、缝隙等进入加长臂内部，腐蚀机械零件内部，加速加长臂磨损，增加加长臂故障。

4. Reduce corrosion. The phenomenon that the metal surface is damaged by chemical or electrochemical action with surrounding medium is called corrosion. This kind of corrosion will not only affect the normal operation of the mechanical surface equipment, but also corrode the parts inside the extension arm. For example, the chemicals in rainwater and air enter the inside of the extension arm through the external channels and gaps of the mechanical parts, corrode the inside of the mechanical parts, accelerate the wear of the extension arm, and increase the failure of the extension arm.
